Take the first step toward addiction treatment by contacting us today.

intensive outpatient program massachusettsIndividuals struggling with addiction or a co-occurring disorder are eligible for our intensive outpatient program (IOP). Our off-site intensive outpatient program in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is a step down from our partial hospitalization program (PHP). Through our IOP program, individuals do not live on campus but are required to attend mandatory programming just a short drive away.

Our IOP treatment includes weekday programming from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. After morning sessions, patients spend the rest of their day attending various meetings, receiving job-placement assistance such as resumes and mock interviews, working in town, and sober networking. Weekly medication-assisted treatment (MAT) appointments, individual therapy, and family sessions are included in IOP, as are group sessions and case management.

Call Vertava Health Massachusetts today at 888.655.0289 for more information about our IOP and addiction treatment programs in Pittsfield.

Frequently Asked Questions

IOP stands for “intensive outpatient.” Once a person completes an on-campus inpatient substance use disorder treatment program, they will enroll in an intensive outpatient program. These programs consist of less supervision but are still rigorously structured, with patients attending required programming each day.
These are typically programs that are a step up from regular outpatient programs and require mandatory attendance of classes and programming. There is also a group therapy component to IOP treatments more often than not. Intensive outpatient programs are recommended for people who do not require medically-supervised drug detox.

Some common programming in intensive outpatient treatment includes one-on-one therapy with a licensed counselor, group therapy and activities, outdoor physical activities, and weekly medication-assisted treatment appointments with an on-site nurse practitioner.

Partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) are similar as they are both outpatient treatments. Partial hospitalization is typically the more intense version of treatment with longer and more intensive programming throughout the week. In both cases, a patient will live off-campus and attend classes during the week.
